Dear Fellow Members,

As we are approaching the first half of the term, I would to share with you the achievements so far and the exciting plans that our board has put together for you in the coming months.

First of all, I would like to thank and congratulate for having a very energetic, creative and committed executive board in place.  The new executive team, which has many first-time members, has shown outstanding great passion and efforts to understand our members’ needs and deliver some fantastic programs and services this year. Please let me share some of these exciting developments.

We are going even Bigger with Regional Symposium 2014-15!
The last SPMI Regional Symposium in 2013 was the biggest in our history with more than 850 participants from across the globe. This year we are aiming to break our records, not just by the number of delegates, but by the bigger value that we plan to deliver to our members and PM community. The SPMI Regional Symposium 2014-15 will be held from 25th - 27th March, 2015. The theme for this year’s symposium is ‘Today to Tomorrow: Leading Vision to Reality’. As we are celebrating 10 years of success in organizing Symposiums, this year we bring a new Professional Development Workshop exclusively for SPMI members. This is going to be one of the biggest event in project management community as this event will cover keynote speeches from industry leaders, excellent speeches from distinguished speakers in project management community, panel discussions and also provides wide networking opportunities with upcoming and veteran leaders from established institutions who have good hold in Asia. I encourage you to register as soon as possible to avail best offers by visiting SPMI Regional Symposium 2014-15 webpage.

Making History with the Project Of the Year Award 2014-15!
I am very delighted and proud to announce the launch of the first-ever Project of the Year Awards (SPMI-POY) 2014-15. These awards will be given to the projects in Singapore that have produced outstanding results and demonstrated excellence in the field of Project Management. We have 2 award categories, Business & Information Systems and Engineering & Construction. This program provides an excellent platform for the organizations to showcase their Project Management capabilities and achievements, as well as assessing themselves against PMI standards and learning from other organizations. This will be one of the most prestigious awards providing an opportunity for the organizations in Singapore to get recognized and rewarded for their outstanding projects. We are also honored to have distinguished business leaders and senior executives in the Judges Panel and Evaluation Committee.

I encourage you and your organization to participate in this program, and have the opportunity to become the winner of SPMI Project of the Year Award 2014-15.   You may find more details and nomination form by visiting the SPMI Project Of the Year Award 2014-15 webpage.

Dear Fellow Members,

I would to like start by sharing a quote from Henry Ford, a great leader and one of my heroes. “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”

It’s my great pleasure to share with you not a single success, but many successes that SPMI has achieved in this term so far.  These successes were only made possible due to the fact that our board members, volunteers, members, and partners have all come together and showed a superb display of teamwork and commitment.

Here are few of our success stories – and I am sure these should add more color and joy to the celebration around us.

We Are A Family Of Over 2000!
According to the recent statistics, we have crossed the 2000 mark. This is a historic landmark for our chapter and it’s also an evidence of the great trust and value that SPMI has built for its member and PM community over the years. With your support, I am sure that our SPMI family will continue to grow and prosper in future.

Regional Symposium 2013 – We Broke Our Own Records!
SPMI Regional Symposium 2013 was the largest and perhaps most successful event in our history. It attracted more than 860 participants not only from the Asia Pacific, but as far as Gulf and Canada. PMI Board of Director, Beth Partleton, also graced the event and she was extremely pleased with the success of the Symposium and also shared her views on latest Project Management trends. We also had 16 world-class speakers who educated and enthralled the participants on various topics of personal and professional development. I would like to sincerely thank the Symposium Organizing Committee, volunteers, sponsors and members for joining their hands together in creating this historic success.

Dear Fellow Members,

It gives me immense pleasure to share PMI Singapore Chapter's Mid Term Achievements with you. These have been made possible with the contributions of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about our practice.

Steady Membership Growth
Based on the Nov 2012 statistics, we have surpassed 1850 members. This is an achievement knowing that we only had 170 members when we started in year 2000. Looking at the PMP credential holder statistics, however, we have a great opportunity to grow further as there are 7500 PMPs residing in Singapore, and many of them are not yet chapter members. We need everybody's help to attract our fellows into our community of practice.

Regional Symposium 2012
PMI Regional Symposium 2012 has set a milestone in our Chapter's history with the tremendous success of attracting more than 850 delegates from around the Asia Pacific region and PMI Global. The President and CEO, PMI, Mark Langley, graced the event and applauded our Chapter in organizing such an event at a grand level. His words of appreciation have certainly encouraged us and have inspired us to continue our efforts. Once again I humbly thank the Symposium Organizing Committee and the entire crew – sponsors, volunteers, delegates who made this event an extravaganza.
