This presentation will focus on Singapore's distinctive context, emphasizing the pivotal role of aquaculture in addressing specific challenges related to food security and economic prosperity in this urban setting. In the face of a growing population and the aspiration for greater self-sufficiency, aquaculture emerges as a strategic solution to diversify the local food supply and diminish reliance on food imports.
Dr Lee will conduct a deep-dive into the economic aspects of aquaculture in Singapore. From small-scale, innovative aquaculture projects to larger commercial ventures, the audience will have a glimpse on its potential for generating wealth and employment opportunities in Singapore. Through harnessing technological innovations and advancements in aquaculture, Dr Lee will also be sharing how Singapore has the potential to position itself at the forefront of sustainable and cutting-edge aquaculture practices.
