MIIP Webinar #13:

Re-imagining Project Success: Lean Construction, Digital and AI-Driven Governance in Construction Projects

The PMI Singapore Chapter and core team of Major Infrastructure and Industrial Projects (MIIP) Special Interest Group (SIG) is proud to host MIIP Series #13, which brings together Lean construction, digital delivery, and AI-driven governance to redefine what project success looks like in today’s complex infrastructure and industrial environments.

This executive-level webinar explores why decades of digitalisation—BIM, dashboards, and AI pilots—have not consistently delivered productivity gains, and how organisations can bridge the gap between data, decision-making, and predictable outcomes.

Through real-world case studies, expert speakers will demonstrate how Lean-enabled collaboration, governed AI adoption, and people-centric transformation can stabilise schedules, reduce rework and disputes, improve assurance, and unlock trust-based delivery at scale.

Designed for senior project leaders, PMO professionals, and transformation champions, the session offers practical frameworks, governance models, and cultural insights to move beyond tools and toward reliable, repeatable, and responsible project performance.

You’ll hear from four powerful voices in modern leadership.

Topics Covered:

Speaker1:  Sharath Waikar, Founder, CEO, Lean Station, Singapore

Topic: Thinking Beyond Digital- Building the Next Generation of Collaborative Projects with Lean PlanDo.

Most construction teams are drowning in digital tools yet still struggle with delays, siloed decisions, and unpredictable outcomes, not because of a lack of data, but because the planning and collaboration flow remain broken. This session focuses on how Lean methods, when fused with CPM, real-time digital workflows can provide a measurable continual improvement framework for project teams. It creates the missing bridge from information to proactive action. Using Lean PlanDo and case studies across infrastructure, industrial, and smart-district projects, we shall explore how teams can identify constraints earlier, make faster decisions, stabilise schedules, and unlock predictable performance. Attendees will see why the future of modern delivery lies not in merely in systems, but in Lean-enabled teams + trust centred collaboration that turns complexity into clarity.

Speaker2: Jugal Makwana, Global Senior Executive - Industry Transformation and Strategic/Open Ecosystem, Autodesk, Netherlands

Topic: AI‑Driven Project Governance & Assurance: From Standards to Trusted Delivery

AI will not land successfully in construction without governed ways of working. This session shows how standards, controls, and assurance can turn AI from pilots into trusted delivery at scale. We’ll discuss explore standards and data governance to concrete workflows—submittals, change, risk, and commercial control—and show how platform enabled strategy and AI principles can translate into measurable reductions in rework, delay risk, and claims exposure.

Speaker3: James GarnerHead of AI and Data, GleedsLondon, United Kingdom

Topic: The Cultural Transformation of AI in Construction: Changing How We Work and Think
The presentation will focus on the cultural and human dimensions of AI adoption in the construction industry, moving beyond purely technical discussions to address the fundamental shifts required for successful AI integration.

Welcome Note & Moderator: Harihara Subramanian – Immediate Past President, PMI SG chapter, MIIP SIG Chair and seasoned industrial practitioner with over two decades of project leadership experience leading complex capital industrial projects involving multi-disciplinary teams and global stakeholders, driving successful outcomes across diverse sectors.
