29 October 2014 | Professional Development Event | Mining For Gold! Facilitations Skills for Productive Meetings, Teams, Projects, Client Meetings and Staff Sessions

Michael was the FIRST Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) in Singapore and one of only 6 living in Asia and the Middle East out of 660 worldwide.  He has spoken in 33 countries engaging audiences with his style and knowledge.  He has written a book “Mining for Gold: Facilitation Skills to Unearth a Wealth of Ideas from Your Team” published by Prentice-Hall.  His topic for the night is on Facilitation.

Facilitation is NOT speaking, training or even coaching. Facilitation is the art of helping others discover their own answers. Learn how to draw quiet people out (still waters run deep), how to keep dominators from dominating, how to get more input, faster and then get people to take action on ideas.

You will learn in a short 2 hours:

  • 10 Ways to get people to open up
  • The differences between speeches, seminars, workshops and facilitation
  • 6 things to NEVER DO (as they shut people down)
  • 3 key ways to create independence in people so you don't have to work so hard and do not get stuck 'doing it all yourself'!
  • How and why to protect 'bears' and 'fish' in your project meetings, team meetings and other sessions you run

Michael_Podolinsky_2014               Michael_-_Mining_for_Gold

Michael Podolinsky CSP, CSPGlobal wrote Asia's first book on Facilitation Skills for Pearson Prentice Hall Publishing.

He's taught the subject at SIM for 20 years and was named SIM's FIRST Trainer-of-the-Year in 2013 and again in 2014. Author of 15 books and out of 15,000 speakers worldwide, he's one of only 660 holding CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) and one of only 24 awarded CSPGlobal for his global speaking experience on 6 continents and his contributions to the industry and people worldwide. He's taught facilitation skills to the Singapore Prime Minister's Office, Singapore Airlines flight instructors, MOE teaching teachers, DSTA instructors, Singapore Navy & Air Force instructors and a host of other companies.

32 Years of full time experience facilitating, training and speaking, Michael has lived and worked in Asia 27 years. He knows what works in Asia and consistently gets the results his clients demand. 90% of his business is repeat work (this is his 4th programme for SPMI to crowds of 300+) and he's asked back because of simple, practical 'how to' techniques and his trademark 'Mike Factor' of fun, props, video clips and localised humour.

His credentials include:

  • Certified Speaking Professional awarded in 2008: One of only 660 worldwide out of nearly 15,000 professional speakers and the FIRST living in Singapore to receive it and today, one of only 6 in all of Asia and the Middle East to have earned this HIGHEST EARNED HONOUR in Professional Speaking.
