In today’s highly complex and dynamic business environment, businesses need to adapt and constantly transform to meet various challenges.  “How do we deliver business transformation through project management and sourcing?”  This is an impending and important question that many project managers and sourcing professionals like you and I would have.

The Project Management Institute, Singapore Chapter (SPMI) together with  the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), Singapore Chapter have jointly organized a panel discussion  on the topic “Effective business transformation – how to deliver this through sourcing and project management”.

Mr. Umesh Ursekar

Umesh Ursekar is Managing Director and founding member of U3 Infotech Umesh has been president of Project Management Institute Singapore Chapter. Umesh received his Master of Management Science and Bachelor Degree in Science from Pune University, India. Umesh has Global team management, business development skills. Umesh is energetic and visible leader. He is also responsible for geographical expansion & growth, new value creation and business operation of U3. Prior to U3, Umesh has worked with Infineon Technologies, AXA Insurance, and Hewlett Packard, in Singapore, in various capacities. Umesh has lead and managed multi-million dollar Business programs and projects. Umesh was a board member of ISACA, Singapore Chapter (Information Systems Audit and Control Association). Umesh has been assisting new entrepreneurs in evaluation and finalization of business and implementation plans, on volunteer basis. Umesh is a regular public speaker at international conferences.

Ian_Ferguson

Mr. Ian Ferguson

Ian Ferguson is a Partner in Olswang Asia LLP where he is the Head of Technology & Sourcing.  He specialises in commercial transactions in relation to sourcing, technology, and telecommunications, with over 30 years of experience in international law firms, including at Allen & Overy where he was the firm’s Global Head of Communications, Media & Technology.

Ian is Co-Chair of the Singapore Chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) and Co-Chair of the IAOP Pacific Rim Regional Advisory Board.  He is also a founder and non-executive Board member of Elix-IRR Partners LLP, a strategic advisory firm.

Ian advises customers and suppliers on sourcing transactions across sectors including business processes, IT, communications and facilities management services, multi-jurisdictional and offshore transactions, shared services arrangements, cloud based transactions and outsourcings involving joint ventures. He also has considerable experience of strategic investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, privatisations, regulation and commercial contracts in the telecommunications sector.

Balaji_Bhakthavatchalam

Mr. Balaji Bhakthavatchalam

Balaji is currently the Client Services Director for CSC Computer Sciences Corporation. He is currently heading pre-sales for CSC in Financial Services in AMEA (Africa, Middle East, Asia).

He possesses around 24 years of IT industry experience, in various leading organizations such as ITC Information Systems and CSC Computer Sciences Corporation. Of the total experience 21 years in CSC based in Singapore on a regional role deputed to Malaysia, Thailand, India to setup the delivery and pre-sales practice.

His experience spans over Business Development Support, P&L Responsibility for a geography, Responsible for utilization , Project/ Program Management, Services Management, Customer services, Service Level Management, IT budgeting. Instrumental in PMO office set-up for CSC project delivery in South Asia. He played a major role in selling professional services and building the consultancy business for CSC in South Asia.

Dhanasekhar_Damodaram

Mr. Dhanasekhar Damodaram

Dhana has 21 years of IT industry experience and is currently the Head of Citi Asia Pacific(AP) Consumer Services Delivery. He is responsible for quality of services provided to the consumer business and covers end-to-end service quality including application, infrastructure and third party components, continuity of business, infrastructure cost, demand optimization including driving programs to optimize the end-to-end IT cost to business by code optimization, consolidation, re-platforming, identifying cost effective solution, review business volumetrics and consumption drivers, migrate/retire legacy application & infrastructure and quality of project execution and execution of major transformation projects.

Prior to this, he was the head of BHP Billiton Global service delivery team as Director and Senior Global DPE comprising of 900+ team members spread across Singapore, India, Australia, USA, Chile, UK and Canada. 

Dhana also held Senior leadership responsibilities in Asean/South Asia for Service Management, Transition and Project Management from 2004 to 2006. Prior to 2004, he was a Senior Manager in IBM Global Services specializing in Service Delivery and Transition Integration management.

Saba_Khan

Ms. Saba Khan

Saba Khan is the APAC Head of IT Outsourcing category at Credit Suisse. In her role, she has contractual and commercial responsibility for large deals in the region. She closely works with the internal customer regional leads to understand sourcing demands and runs sourcing initiatives for the same. As a category manager she is responsible for driving category analysis and continually developing executable strategies against category objectives.

Prior to her current role, she lead, as a Program Manager, various large change initiatives in the Investment Banking area at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Some such initiatives include front to back Swap reengineering, outsourcing plans acceleration, and recent Dodd Frank based regulatory reform program in the region.

Saba holds an international MSA from INSEAD and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Tony_Rawlinson

Mr. Tony Rawlinson

Tony Rawlinson is a Partner in ASEAN Management Consulting at KPMG where he focuses on Financial Services Advisory, Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory and Procurement Advisory. He specialises in defining effective sourcing strategies and helping clients execute and govern the resultant operating models.

Tony has 35 years of experience as an advisor, client and service provider and has been involved in numerous large scale IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing transactions in Asia, Europe and North America.

Prior to KPMG he had Partner roles with TPI and EquaTerra and leadership roles at EDS, Siemens Business Services and Standard Chartered Bank.

He also advises on captive design and build, business and functional strategy, IT and operations optimization and channel and distribution effectiveness in financial institutions and has worked extensively throughout his career helping banks and insurance companies manage complex change programmes.
